Christmas with the Basses!

H appy new year! I hope your holidays were restful and rejuvenating. I'm grateful to have gotten lots of time with family, lots of time with students, and lots of time with friends!

Christmas & New Years for the Basses

Christmas Eve with Erin's side of our family! This is my brother-in-law, Matt and my mother-in-law, Kim!

Peep the socks

Our 3rd annual Christmas disc golf tournament! I lost in the final hole against our oldest brother, Nathan. He's posing proudly with his trophy

Can you tell we're related?

This was taken at 12:00am this morning. Happy New Year!

P.S. It's hard to see, but moments prior to this we finally filled the picture frames in our Living Room after having been hanging emptily for 6 months.

Hanging with friends

Erin and I drove with our close friends, Taylor and Austin, an hour each way for what we later discovered to be a kids' amusement park. Austin had a wonderful time on the rides, but you could say the rest of us enjoyed our time more for the company...

We should have taken more pics with people, but we got to use our 2 weeks off to catch up with so many more of our friends!

FOCUS Christmas Parties!

SMU FOCUS had a series of competitions to conclude our Christmas party. Watch in awe of our sled building + race. That was my team that almost took 2nd, but fell to 3rd place at the final moment.

Our FOCUS all-staff Christmas party! A few were sick and missed, but here's the whole team! I love working with these people so much.

Thank you all for your support! Remember to take time to rest. Your value is not determined by what you accomplish or how productive you are. Connect with God and thank him for not designing us to be ever-working robots!

I love y'all!

Your brother,
Taylor

Summer FOCUS

It's been a slower month on the ministry front. We've got a few new students transferring into SMU this fall who have already gotten connected. Besides that, most of my time has been spent raising support, meeting our local SMU students, and getting acclimated to being a father. Summer FOCUS We've still been having a weekly fellowship night, and it's been great! This is the ad we put up around SMU for Summer term students to see We've had a great turnout from our campuses around DFW! Probably around 200 students who drive out to Richardson on a weekly basis Students I've talked to have been feeling impacted by the messages, and touched by the worship. Baby Audrey's now been here for a month! Here are some recent highlights. First big smile! Honk shoo 🤨 Loves affection 🍵 Not too much to report this month, but once August and especially September rolls in, things will get crazy and I'll have lots of stories to share! I hope you enjoyed some pics of baby ...

She's here!

Hi everyone, As expected, May was a very eventful month. We wrapped our final programming at SMU for the semester, sent off 100+ students from Dallas/Fort-Worth to SICM, and most importantly, Audrey was born! (Not biased at all) Get ready for the biggest photo dump of my career. Baby Last pic before becoming parents! Fresh out the oven Meeting dad Meeting grandparents Meeting grandparents Ready for the world Leaving the hospital Leaving the hospital (fit check) Dog approved Happy mode Angry mode Silly goofy mode Comfy cozy Camera shy First photo shoot First photo shoot First photo shoot Being a baby is exhausting My favorite SICM You've seen me write about SICM the last few months, and it's finally come! Tons of students from our ministries in Dallas / Fort Worth flew up to Washington for a campus ministry leadership conference. Here are a few pics of the whole group! SMU's team of students being prayed over Back to Dallas Thank you all very much for your support. If you w...

Eclipse

Hey everyone! I hope you enjoyed my very creative and original title to this month's update. I'm excited to share some of the final things we've done this semester before students embark on finals week and start their summer breaks. While they've all been slowing down, God certainly hasn't! The Eclipse I hope you get to enjoy the eclipse last month! Whether you saw it in person or not, enjoy some pictures of SMU Focus watching it together alongside thousands of other students on campus. One of our seniors, David, got some incredible pictures with his professional camera! Note just how many people showed up to watch. Several thousand! Upon seeing it, Garrett voiced the good hope that that's only a fraction of the people who will soon join together in unity from every nation to praise our Lord! EOY Banquet We had our end of year formal last week, which went great! We spent time honoring our student leaders, our graduating seniors, all over a nacho bar donated by C...
