Snow!

Hi everyone! I hope the first month of 2024 has been going well for you so far. I'm excited to share some of how the semester has kicked off in Dallas!

Retreat (Round 2)

I mentioned last month that there was another retreat coming in January, and we made it through! It was incredibly successful, and we had about 600 FOCUS students across the metroplex come out for the weekend!

Dr. Daniel Lee is a professor of theology in Fuller Seminary and flew down to be our guest speaker! He did a great job and the SMU students told me he had a profound impact on them.

Enjoy a clip from our Gospel worship night!

Greatest SMU/UNT crossover in history

Would you believe within 48 hours this whole area would be covered with snow?

Speaking of which, Charli got to enjoy her first snow!

Dorm Outreach

Our new Dorm Outreach initiative has begun! I've been spending 3 hours per week in the lobby with a sign, inviting students to talk. The hope is that after a few weeks, enough familiarity and trust will be built to where passing students will sit and I'll get to develop relationships with them and invite them into community. Renee and Siena are both trying similar things at different dorms!

We've got a lot of new things going on this semester and I'm excited to share in the coming months about how God will work through them. Thank you so much for your continued support of the mission at SMU, and please continue praying for these students!

Your brother,
Taylor

Summer FOCUS

It's been a slower month on the ministry front. We've got a few new students transferring into SMU this fall who have already gotten connected. Besides that, most of my time has been spent raising support, meeting our local SMU students, and getting acclimated to being a father. Summer FOCUS We've still been having a weekly fellowship night, and it's been great! This is the ad we put up around SMU for Summer term students to see We've had a great turnout from our campuses around DFW! Probably around 200 students who drive out to Richardson on a weekly basis Students I've talked to have been feeling impacted by the messages, and touched by the worship. Baby Audrey's now been here for a month! Here are some recent highlights. First big smile! Honk shoo 🤨 Loves affection 🍵 Not too much to report this month, but once August and especially September rolls in, things will get crazy and I'll have lots of stories to share! I hope you enjoyed some pics of baby ...

She's here!

Hi everyone, As expected, May was a very eventful month. We wrapped our final programming at SMU for the semester, sent off 100+ students from Dallas/Fort-Worth to SICM, and most importantly, Audrey was born! (Not biased at all) Get ready for the biggest photo dump of my career. Baby Last pic before becoming parents! Fresh out the oven Meeting dad Meeting grandparents Meeting grandparents Ready for the world Leaving the hospital Leaving the hospital (fit check) Dog approved Happy mode Angry mode Silly goofy mode Comfy cozy Camera shy First photo shoot First photo shoot First photo shoot Being a baby is exhausting My favorite SICM You've seen me write about SICM the last few months, and it's finally come! Tons of students from our ministries in Dallas / Fort Worth flew up to Washington for a campus ministry leadership conference. Here are a few pics of the whole group! Eclipse

Hey everyone! I hope you enjoyed my very creative and original title to this month's update. I'm excited to share some of the final things we've done this semester before students embark on finals week and start their summer breaks. While they've all been slowing down, God certainly hasn't! The Eclipse I hope you get to enjoy the eclipse last month! Whether you saw it in person or not, enjoy some pictures of SMU Focus watching it together alongside thousands of other students on campus. One of our seniors, David, got some incredible pictures with his professional camera! Note just how many people showed up to watch. Several thousand! Upon seeing it, Garrett voiced the good hope that that's only a fraction of the people who will soon join together in unity from every nation to praise our Lord! EOY Banquet We had our end of year formal last week, which went great! We spent time honoring our student leaders, our graduating seniors, all over a nacho bar donated by C...
